Information for migration agents

Are you a migration agent with clients that intend to apply for a skills assessment and migrate to Australia? Find everything you need to know.

Note that we are unable to provide a pre-assessment service or any updates about applications.

How to help your client apply for skills assessment

Step 1

Choose the teaching occupation and follow the checklist

Each occupation has specific requirements. Jump to Step 3 of the Application Process page to download the checklist for your client’s occupation. The checklist will give you specific instructions around what documents are required – which may include qualifications and English language proficiency.  
Step 2

Follow the steps in the application guide

Visit Step 4 of the Application Process page to find the most up-to-date version of the Application Guide. This document will guide you through the process and explain what documents are required for a successful application. 
Step 3

Create an agent account in the applicant portal

Create an account in the  Applicant portal
Step 4

Complete an agent authorisation form

Complete the  agent authorisation form.

Get the form signed by your client and upload it to the  Applicant portal.

Step 5

Complete your client’s application through the portal

Complete and finalise your client's application through the portal. Refer to the  Applicant Portal User Guide for the step-by-step process.  
Step 6

Your client’s assessment outcome

Please review the  My eQuals fact sheet for details on how outcome statements will be issued via the My eQuals platform. 

Important

  • All information must be correct, including using the official names of the applicant, the qualification title, and the complete name of the awarding institution. This will assist in your client receiving a certificate with the correct details.
  • Incomplete or incorrect applications will result in delays for your client.
  • Communication with AITSL is by email at migration [at] aitsl.edu.au.
  • All communication about the progress of the application will be sent to you directly through your registered email. It is your responsibility to read all the relevant messages and keep your client informed about the status of their application.
